Future Mobility & Industrial Infrastructure Redevelopment
An MIT research and design initiative examining how electric mobility could reshape suburban development, industrial production, infrastructure, and mixed-use urban form.
The work combined field research, interviews, and large-scale design exploration, including research conducted in Detroit to better understand the evolving relationship among automotive manufacturing, technology, workforce, and place.
The resulting concept reimagined infrastructure as a catalyst for development, integrating electric-mobility systems with manufacturing, housing, civic buildings, public space, and daily life. The study explored how next-generation transportation infrastructure could support more connected, productive, and resilient suburban communities.
